Scored for SATBB with flute, harp and percussion and completed in May 2023, Thirty Steps was commissioned by the Hellenic Institute at Royal Holloway University of London to mark its 30th anniversary.   The work is set to the text of “The Ladder of Divine Ascent” (an ascetic guide to heaven in 30 steps)  written in the 7th century by St John Climacus and translated into English by Lazarus Moore.
